Originally modelled in cardboard, this piece was created during lockdown when other sculpting materials were hard to source.  Cardboard became a very quick and immediate material to work with, which offers the subject a life of its own. The corrugated card lends the fox textures which are both organic and industrial, rustic and urban. After lock down eased and access to materials and studio space became available, the piece was set in a durable polyseter resin, and bought to colourful life with gilding wax. Our fox remains attentive, curious, and playful.
